How We Work
Paws Mongolia advances humane approaches to animal welfare through community education, public awareness, and partnership-based action. We believe sustainable progress in animal welfare depends on informed communities, institutional accountability, and culturally realistic solutions.
As a U.S.-based nonprofit working through local partnerships, we support Mongolia’s progress by promoting humane treatment, strengthening implementation pathways, and helping close the gap between legislation and real-world outcomes. Our current programs focus on companion-animal welfare challenges where urgent needs align with practical opportunities for measurable impact.
In addition to our community outreach, education, and partnership initiatives, we provide direct support to existing shelters, local caregivers, and volunteer networks in Mongolia. By strengthening community-led efforts already working on the ground, we help address immediate welfare needs while contributing to longer-term, sustainable improvement.
We collaborate with Mongolian partners, local organizations, and relevant stakeholders to share research, best practices, and workable approaches that reduce suffering and improve protection outcomes. Our work emphasizes accountability, transparency, and measurable progress — ensuring that knowledge leads to practical, lasting change on the ground.

About Us
Paws Mongolia was founded by Yuna Gelegdorj, a Mongolian-born advocate committed to advancing humane and practical solutions for animal welfare.
